Domaine des Dieux Claudia Brut MCC 2013
19,50 € / 750 ml
What champagne is for the French, MCC is for the South Africans. And like many French counterparts, the Claudia is a sparkling wine made from Chardonnay (81%) and Pinot Noir (19%) fermented in the bottle using traditional methods. After fermentation in the bottle, the wine spends at least 48 months on its lees, where it develops creamy brioche notes that elegantly refine its mousse. We source the grapes for the base wines from our cool Hemel-en-Aarde region and a parcel from Botrivier. The coolness of these areas allows us to produce base wines that are restrained and austere in their youth, but have the ability to blossom with time. Notes of apple and creamy lemon curd mingle with hints of fragrant red berries. On the palate, the extended mousse is both creamy and mineral. The wine is sharply balanced with a long finish of citrus and toasted brioche notes.
This sparkling wine celebrates life and therefore suits every occasion!
