Domaine des Dieux Syrah Mourvédre 2014

A very traditional winemaking method is used here. Much of the Syrah and Mourvèdre is fermented whole, with pumping over to extract the flavours from the skins. The Syrah from the cool Hemel-en-Aarde mountain range brings flavors of white pepper, licorice, black cherries and blueberries, while the Mourvèdre contributes soft wild berries and spices that soften the wine perfectly. Moderate use of new oak supports the fine tannins on the palate. This is a rich and generous yet balanced union, a perfect partner for bold foods. No new French oak is used in the production of this wine, instead it is aged for 12 months in second and third fill barrels.
